Grant it my goal is to be just under 200#'s (@6'4") before spring. I live in michigan mainly flat and rolling hills. I like the eastons but which ones do I need I am budgeting for up to $1200 to spend on wheels but if I could get away with half of that and save the other $600 (mod edit) Id be happy. What do you guys recommend?
As you become more involved with cycling and racing, you'll also pick up more knowledge about accessories. I really recommend not spending much money on a set of race wheels. Just get yourself a solid set of training wheels (see Neuvation) and use them for racing as well. A lightweight set of wheels is not going to help you win races. Only training and practice will. I can't tell you how many guys I see out there on a $10,000 bike, fully decked out race wheels and they get smoked! You'll also be racing with other new guys, who crash often. I'm sure you'd hate to lose a set of new wheels because some noob got nervous and crashed you out.
Now, with that being said, if you have the money to spend (see Ballin'), then get yourself some Zipp's!
