Hey, the Suede is a great bike for it's purpose. Fortunately, Akron is pretty flat, so yeah, I think you'd do well with a Suede for sure.
Don't be surprised if a couple years down the road, though, you find yourself thinner, faster, stronger, and lusting after a fast road bike.
If it happen, don't worry, it's normal, and you get to discover the idea of N+1.
