My Knoxville Double was difficult but do-able. Felt great at first, got lost, got back on course thanks to a Quack SAG spotting us. Nipple dropped off my Camelback spraying Perpetuem and Hammer Gel Raspberry all over my legs, the bike, the route sheet, etc. Messy!

Suffered up the Knoxville Grade, ate a good lunch, suffered up Loch Lomand, got leg cramps (first time ever), made it to the finish in 18 Hours total time after taking long stops at the checkpoints.

Overall a great ride, tougher than usual for me (my 6th Knoxville double), the heat did me in, plus riding too fast for the first century. An educational experience! Felt fine the next day at the Quack breakfast.

Seven doubles down for 2009, three to go (Hemet, Bass Lake, Fall Solvang).

Good to meet PrincessZippy at Checkpoint 2A!
