A 17-year-old Shippensburg girl was taken to Hershey Medical Center with moderate injuries after a crash at 4:27 p.m. Sept. 16 in North Newton Township, according to a report state police at Carlisle issued Sept. 28..

The girl was riding a bicycle south on Route 11 (Ritner Highway) about 1,800 feet west of Route 3007 when Brandon L. Altizer, 25, of Shippensburg, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado south, tried to pass her on the left, police said.

Altizer did not get over far enough and the passenger side mirror of his vehicle hit the girl, knocking her off her bike, police said. They noted that the girl did not wear a seat belt.

No further information is available.
