Actually, I tried the hairspray method last night, since the tape on my ergo drops were screwed, so I wanted to see what the grips I had lying around looked like on them. The hairspray method failed, miserably.

After that, I slid the grips on without anything. It took some elbow grease, but it went on just fine.
