afaik).
From what I have heard, it is mostly Corpsmen who are shipped to the Middle East, but they tie into both the Navy and Marine Corps.
I was talking to an ex-Marine, and he was telling me about this, since my friends are worried I will be shipped overseas. He said being a Corpsman is about as close to the Marines as you can be without actually being in the Marines.
Also, I thought about joining the Coast Guard, but never did. When I lived in Astoria, I met a lot of guys from the CG at the hospital I worked at, when they would come in for physical therapy.

I understand what you mean about them being salesmen. That is why I like my recruiting office, as they do not seem like they are trying to spew off a bunch of bull****. When I went in, I did not have a ton of questions, but they talked to me about it without hyping it up, and that was fine. I have unintentionally talked to Marine Corps and Army recruiters, and they were way, way different.
