Holy schmokes... I just burned through all 26 pages of this. How
DO you people keep all those classic old rides so clean and new-looking? My faithful steed of the last 18 years looks all beat to heck.
My heart was warmed by the folks who posted those lovely green-and-lavender Raleigh 531s - that was my DREAM ride for so long, after which I pined and pined.
And I've never seen so many beautifully-maintained Colnagos. Too nice to ride; too nice
NOT to!
Anyhow, here's a single post-ride shot of the faithful steed - a Tange #2 frame/fork bought on consignment, gussied up with 7sp Ultegra, Modolo bar, TBone road stem, Selle Italia saddle, front wheel from my brother in law's Pugeot, rear wheel from Nashbar... the Open Sport rims on the Ultegra hubs were added last summer due to the ratchet-wrench action of the worn-out old wheels... I just picked up the SPD-SL pedals a few weeks ago. The paint's scratched and pitted and there are a couple of rust spots. I'm seriously considering stripping it and painting it this winter.
