Part of the problem for me is that it is an EXTREMELY high traffic area. Perhaps amongst the densest rush hour traffic in the entire country. There are so many buses on road, not all of which stop at each stop, that it's hard to tell which bus is going to stop cold in front of you until it actually does.
Also, the traffic is so dense but variable in speed (usually 10-15mph) that it's very difficult to safely "pop out" into the lane around the stopped bus, as you have to crank it up to at least 18mphish to do it safely if there are any moving cars since the bus is so long (and I'm on a mountain bike).
I'll keep a lookout in the next week and if it keeps happening, I'll place a call.
