I prefer clipless but also like to be able to walk reasonably easy when off of the bike. Most of mine now have Shimano A530 or M324 SPD pedals which also allow riding in regular shoes. As a total Fred I also like SPD sandals.
Pedals are a very personal decision and whatever works for you is the way to go.
