I have all kinds of jackets, including the expensive GoreTex ones-including one that looks like Beverly's....and I always sweat more than I like under them-in fact I get wet an chilled. I've found that what works best for me is either a thermal tshirt (tank or long sleeve), long sleeve warm jersey and a cycling vest that has a mesh back (blocks some wind off the chest). They keep me warm enough and allow enough breathing that cuts down on the moisture buildup. However if you're looking for something for the rain that is a different matter.
