It's pretty normal. Even the experienced fast guys I ride with wreck somewhat often, depending on terrain. I wreck a lot because I push the limits on technical terrain, it's the only way I'm gonna get faster on technical stuff, you just gotta ride it, and sometimes you're gonna crash.

My main crashes are falling over on technical climbs when I try to power off a root/rock, stall, and just fall over.
