What should the cop have done?
Or do we just let anyone who wants runs from the cops get away because they might get hurt if we stop them?
I am in no way trying to justify the cop's actions... he made a bad decision and a dude died because of it.
What I want to know is what's the right thing to do here, if you're the cop? How do you stop the guy hauling ass on his bike without risking harming him?
1. pull up next to the guy and ask one more time before;
2. call backup and have the other cruiser cut him off at an intersection
this is a really ****ty incident, Ive attended a seminar on tazer usage for the police and they are only supposed to use the tazer when the subject is at low risk of being injured upon falling to the ground from being disabled by the weapon... this cop is going to get his ass reamed for this and I hope he cant get a job as a security guard as he shouldn't be within 20 feet of any weapon including a tazer.
