I really notice when I don't put ear plugs in while motorcycling. I understand that level of continuous noise might have bad effects, and I can actually hear traffic better with plugs in.

I was recently bicycling in good wind, at a good clip, and down a nice hill (Cherohala Skyway in NC) at speeds into the mid-40s. Immediately apparent that I get more wind noise from a bicycle helmet than a motorcycle helmet.

Anyone know what noise level wind around a bicycle helmet reaches?

I'm going to try bicycling in the mountains with ear plugs, see whether it's more comfortable for me. I have a little bit of hearing loss, this might make the noise more annoying than for younger people.
