What's slick about the Shures (at least the 110s that I have) is that the cord is in two pieces, with one straight segment connecting to a "Y" junction that goes to the earphones. You can take just the earphone end of the wire, plug it into an iPod Shuffle or any other tiny player, and clip the player onto the rear strap of your helmet. Hardly any wire remains to dangle around.
The older Shuffle works well like this, with the little control circle giving decent tactile feedback. It looks like you're scratching your head when changing tracks or volume, though.
