I'm not sure how. I went out of my way to ensure I would not appear that way. At any rate, the appropriate thing to have done if the guy did suspect it was a scam would be to: A) ignore the email completely (the expected response), B) say thanks but no thanks and move on or C) Respond with a couple of simple questions that would have either ID'd me as a scammer or as someone who was offering a legitimate business solution.
Regardless, his response was totally unprofessional and, given the totality of the evidence here, it would appear as though this company is not someone anyone looking for a legitimate MTB should ever do business with.
