I'm saying that b/c I did some sandblasting recently and it doesn't take off paint easily unless it's flacky. Better to strip it first chemically and blast it at the hard-to-reach regions and to prep it for paint.
Or perhaps Jet-Kote knows what they're doing better than me

Its a chemical strip and blast that they do at Jet-Kote. I have had over 30 frames done by them and for the most part have been pleased with the results. It isn't a piano finish by any stretch but is a good durable paint job.
