Heh. I know. Hey, folks, I've totally given up these ideas. Good enough was already good enough. We're talking about 11- and 12-year-old boys running around the neighborhood on BMX bikes pretending to be BMX tricksters. This past Sunday, they attended a BMX rally locally.

Then the 12 year old came to me and said he blew out his tire running over a crack in the sidewalk. Turns out he also dented his rear wheel. It's a very heavy steel rim with 36 spokes. No way is he telling the truth. And we had just inflated the tire quite fully, and he gets a pinch flat? Come on. He must have tried one of the tricks he just saw and jumped five feet or something. But he's not confessing, probably because he's afraid I'll tell on him to his parents. And he's probably right about that!

I have two daughters and have nearly lost touch with what it's like to be a boy. It's such a trip to have these neighbor kids as "nephews."
