I actually do what I can not to smoke around other people. On the particular day I mentioned, I even went to the other side of the parking lot, so as not to subject them to it.
I always appreciate it when people do that. Some folks can smoke right next to you and you'd scarcely notice it, and others are noticeable across the room. I never did figure out how that can be, but when you point out to the annoying ones that they're spewing addictive carcinogens their argument about individual rights looks a lot less appealing.
