Identical riding here in S'toon.
Took a slow-motion fall due to ice ruts under the snow that I didn't see. The smoothest fall I've ever had. I think if anyone had seen it, it would have looked like I just decided to take a rest & lie down for a while
About 2/3 into my ride I heard a "ting" sound. Thought my rear derailuer nocked a pice of ice... turned out to be a broken spoke

Wheel got progressively worse. By the time I got to work it was rubbing on the fender through about 1/3 of a revolution... don't want to risk further damage by riding it home.
I don't have a spoke wrench or extra spoke with me, so I'll try to courier my wheel to the LBS & have them fix it & send it back for the ride home... we'll see if they pass the test
