why not? They are all the same mechanism. The cheaper ones simply use steel in some parts instead of aluminum. You just need to make sure to match the chain to the derailleur. In other words, if you run 10 speed chain, use a 10 speed front derailleur, which puts you at Tiagra and up.
Is '10 Tiagra already at 10 speeds? I thought that group set was still 9 speeds.
