My most impressive/depressing cycling/eating accomplishment

I just gotta brag.

On Thursday, I rolled over 5,000 miles on my bike for the year, and as of today stand at 5,020.

Wait - that's not the impressive part.

The impressive thing is that I've also gained 3 pounds in body weight since January 1st.

That means, I've consumed 365,091 calories *more* than I needed to this year* to maintain my body weight. In "survival" mode - subsisting on 1,000 calories per day - that means that since January I've already eaten enough excess food to keep myself alive for a year.

Now *that's* impressive eating.

Or depressing, depending on how you look at it.
