Found this thread in a search. I suspect I just mash down on the pedal, and was looking for better ways to pedal(can you ever be too well informed?). In a google search, I found this page with video:

Seems like he is giving good advice, yes/no? And do the same principles apply whether you have toe clips or clipless pedals?
