I'm NOT sure. An early Cardinal was more Scarlet. Judging by the tape and presumed lighting makes me less sure of the orange. 73 & 4 had your orange, my plan B as I wrote. Why isn't the tape faded ? Hey, I'm wingin' here.
Having more shots would help. Graphics, how and where the name Varsity is labled would isolsate 73 from 80. Granted, a number of years used these colors on and off. They did skip enough years inbetween to be able to differentiate taking other features into account. I couldn't rationally disagree with you in any case.
