now, i am thinking of getting a Denali (new, old, whatever) and change it into a knock-around off-and-on road cyclo-x-commuter of sorts....is there enough clearance for cx tires? and can the brakes easily be changed out?
With the stock tires on it 28mm, there is only 1/4" clearance at the top of the forks. There is room side to side. Most CX bikes I see have a lot of room at the top of the forks. So this could be a problem. As for the brakes, there is no way to put MTB brakes on it. In less you weld on the mounts.
Hope this helps.
