Well, the freedom of doing this, or wearing joggers (as I do occasionally) is definetely a relaxing change once in a while. It is very comfortable and liberating letting your feet go where ever they want.

I think you'll find this only occurred because float systems weren't around when the first clipless pedals came about in the 80s.
