Bikes: Velo Orange, '91 Wicked Fat Chance, '99 Sycip Hardtail, '02 Sycip Pave custom, Benotto fixed, a playafied Bridgestone MB-3 and a bunch of hacks, beaters, townies, and 'projects'.

Velo Orange has been doing this for years.

Hey all:
Sorry if this comes off as spam, but I was quite surprised to read that Velo Orange wasn't mentioned more often as a primary source for much of what is desired by the classic and vintage types.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that Velo Orange has been working on many of these same projects, recommissioning and making available classic designs like our Constructor rear rack, PBP doublewall box section rims (not to be confused with singlewall 'double box' rims), and our Porteur front rack. We also have discrete handlebar mounts for any bottle cage, non aero brake levers and gum hoods, leather saddles and seatposts that look good and have substantial setback.

Velo Orange is also working on a number of new projects- including a lugged steel rando frameset, among other things- that will be available in the next few months. We not just sourcing tiny bits of long gone parts or only making french thread bottom brackets. We are addressing an entirely new category of elegant and practical bikes, parts and accessories that has gone largely ignored by the mainstream bike business. We are pretty satisfied that almost 4 years later, some are following our lead.

We have a pretty open and dynamic product development business model through our blog and website; we truly value our customers and the suggestions, advice, and critiques thrown at us. I guess it's inevitable that we became a targets of the classic bike biz 'R&D' process.

To quote John Lydon, imitation is not always the sincerest form of flattery.
