Where the cable goes up from the BB to the FD bolt, the cable is touching the frame. the bottom bracket area is pretty big which is what is causing this problem. it has some kind of big lug.

i have checked the cable guide and it is attached in the correct direction. it is just simply not guiding the cable back far enough to clear the bb area before it goes up to the FD. after noticing the paint being worn down into a groove, i temporarily fixed it by cutting a piece of metal from a coke can and taping it on the surface so the cable rubs that rather than the frame.

Any suggestions on how to sort this problem out properly would be much appreciated.
