Actually I'm very jealous.
A couple of years ago I went up to western North Carolina over Thanksgiving and got in some serious climbing. The climbing part was fine, but the descending was sketchy because they had a recent snow at the higher elevations and all the roads were heavily sanded. It made every switchback an adventure.
Also there were some long descents in mid-40 F temps and even though I was wearing leg warmers, base layer, old-school long sleeved wool jersey, and wind shell I was FREEZING. While climbing I wanted to take everything off.
Mt Mitchell last year. We started at the bottom in sunny mid 60s. When we got to the top it was cold, drizzling, and foggy. I think in the low 40s.
