Go light and cater for the fact that you are a fantastic mechanic that does all the prep before the ride.
That's pretty much my attitude. The weight of the tools is nothing compared to the burden of worrying about everything that might possibly go wrong.

There's a lot of bad things that could happen. Most of them won't.
