Therein lies the problem. Both my buddy and I, as well as most of the passengers were told just to leave our stubs on the overhead hanger and swap trains as we only had a few minutes. Since we both had bikes to contend with where everyone else had shopping bags we ended up with a more condensed timeframe.
I'll still write and explain the scenario. Perhaps they'll still honor it. Thanks for the info!
