In principal I would say you could, but in application it could cause some problems. Mainly if it gets on a lot of the plastic or rubber parts in seemingly every part on a bike then it could cause problems.

I'd recommend mineral spirits for chain or simply lube with a chain lube containing mineral spirits which will clean as it replenishes the lube.

The rest of the drivetrain I use different forms of citrius cleaners and plain old water.
