I've never been to an LBS that this wasn't the case. Maybe that should be a warning for the newbies on the forum. Don't do business with an LBS if they aren't willing to give free adjustments for the first year and maybe at least show you what they are doing so you can do it yourself after that.
After owning my bike for a little over a year i had a problem with a stripped out water bottle boss. Carried it in to get it fixed and while i was there the owner said to this couple, "If you buy a bike from me you'll get free 'check ups' for a year." Did he tell this to me? no Should I have asked? If I knew to do so. Lesson learned. And honestly I'd rather just build my own now...
