I use the brake cleaner for chain cleaning, especially when I ride in bad weather in fall/winter. Chain needs to be cleaned and lubed almost after every ride, and I have no time to remove chain from the bike.

I use penetrating oil to brake down and clean the accumulated stuff on the chain, let it soak through, then I use brake cleaner to clean the chain and after that I reapply home made oil brew ( motor oil and mineral spirit mix). After about 5-10 minutes I wipe the chain clean with a rag.
