He'd just retained 4th place GC, and was asked about his chances of a podium in Paris. Still pumping red-hot adrenaline, and dripping sweat, he rebuked the interviewer sharply:

"A day at a time, a day at a time, thinking ahead is how you c**k things up! I've trained psychologically and physically for this."

Wonderful stuff.

I'm from his neck of the woods, and he comes across as 100% genuine, untouched by the PR machine, and very refreshing.

I tend to believe him in his claim to be anti-drugs, and he heartily endorsed CVV too:

"I KNOW that he is clean."

Which was splendid to hear from a bloke with street-cred and black socks.

He even got LA wearing them, but Wiggo hasn't verified LA's status yet
