It can be pretty windy here, all year round. Small island, surrounded by sea, loads of 30+ mph sea breezes.

As they reach the island where the 120+ temperatures causes air to rise causing a low pressure zone, the wind increases and adds evaporated sea to an increasing sandy salty dust storm. Cars can get their paint abraded off in a year or two if left outside
