I've done the downhill a couple of times, both quite a few years ago with the guy who started the entire bike ride experience, Cruiser Bob (now long gone, R.I.P. Ran into him in Santa Monica one day when I was wearing one of his shirts and he picked me out)

The downhill was great, even on those old cruiser bikes; motorcycle brakes, full on SAG behind us blocking the road...38 miles to the bottom. Ha! One time down, it started raining and my wife and I both ended up with big ole red/brown streaks on our backs and pants from the tire spray.

But I'm definately wanting to hit that climb!
