Just called the shop, they gave up, couldn't get it out. They say they're gonna re-grease it, put it back together and see if it works, at least for some time. Hopefully it will be so.
And if this problem pops up again, it's going to a different shop.
So at about 6:00 pm I'll tell you if the bike works or not.
Wishful reading on my part, my bad, I took "offering" as an exchange offer. If you're faced with dunking your bearings (you might want to check your bottom bracket, too) or carrying your bike...you might want to carry your bike, much cheaper and easier to maintain that way.
