It's weird, you walk into a shop nowadays with a legitimate question and are looking for dialogue, but you get nothing like that, rather you get declarations of that tech's greatness and offers to clean your pockets out by upgrading you Ti nipples on your spokes or some crap.

You just have to learn to take bike BS with a grain (or maybe a pound) of salt.

Bikes are for riding and enjoying, not for BSing. (Except for pure conversation, knowing it really doesn't matter) If some technonerd gives you any grief about your bike, remind yourself (and maybe him) Hey, it's just a ******** bicycle!"
