It's weird, you walk into a shop nowadays with a legitimate question and are looking for dialogue, but you get nothing like that, rather you get declarations of that tech's greatness and offers to clean your pockets out by upgrading you Ti nipples on your spokes or some crap.

Lol, if you're ever in Carlsbad and want to get your anti-technology fix, stop by Pacific Coast Cycles (where 78 meets PCH). Ask Chuck about bike computers and watch his head explode like a volcano. His wife sold me the last one in the shop for 1/2 price because she couldn't stand to hear him rant about them anymore.
Not coincidentally, it's my favorite shop in san diego. No BS, just hand written work tickets and results. Plus he can build a mean wheel.
