Wear a merino wool base layer. You can wear them 3 or 4 times and they don't smell. Good prices at REI.
I wear a helmet cover with a merino wool skull cap underneath.

I bought my winter gear at Boure b/c of the large sizes he stocks and also the jerseys are a club fit.
