Thanks you guys ... and in reply: the seller is not in the know, and I don't think he is playing dumb.

So, I looked at Chesini as suggested by soderbiker, and it does not appear to be as rich a build as a Chesini — works of art as they are! But one or two stuffs stand out to be from the same mold of thinking, but that could just be because they were built in the same city!

Here are some pics ... and no more rez or size, including that of the head-badge, is any more descriptive than what I've got cropped and presented here.

The best face that I can put on it is this: possibly a premium maker of racers put out some lesser bikes on contract under another name. Not that they were bad bikes — just not the ones that the front ot the peleton rode on the grand tour. Trainers for amateurs and wannabes — and not to diss them in the slightest way. At a glance though, the lines say serious race bike to me. No lazy tourer. So I'm guessing Columbus something in double butt ... and maybe hand brazed in jigs.

What say you?
