On the triple triangle thing, the idea was nothing new even in the 70's...Thanet were making them in the 50's, 60's and a small frame builder named Bill Tilston did all of his that way, his shop was on Mandale road in Thornaby about two miles from the Jack Taylor factory.
I was asked to make one in 1955 by a local hill-climb time-trial champion...at the time, anyone worth his salt road either a Jack Taylor Curved Tube model or a Baines 5 barred Gate model...I made the chap a curved tuber with the triple triangle..for no other reason than it looked strange. He used it to many victories.
For the record, I made another today with three tubes curved and a triple triangle for a fixed wheel road bike...for no other reason than it looks strange....COLIN LAING
