I know the Sprites had the tubing decal positioned there, I gather the same for the Superbe. I've never seen a Sports set up in that manner though.

If you click "Raleigh" from the drop-down list, you'll come across the original Raleigh Archives page which links to the variant breakdown chart (Model Evolution Articles, Raleigh Sports > Fittings & Equipment chart).
Unfortunately, the chart isn't as accurate as it could be - the difference in stamping between the '50s cranksets and the 1960's cranksets are not represented, and very few of the details have accompanying photos.
