However, depending on how you plan on riding, it is not out of the question that a more robust rim intended for a fixed gear could work just fine. Keep in mind that many fixed gear bikes are ridden pretty hard and so the rims you find on some of those wheels are pretty stout. Finding one that is cheap and wide enough would present somewhat more of a problem, but even there one does see such things.


So, in short: the disc brake kiboshes my advice, the rim choice does not, and you are a dillweed.

1. 700c rims designed to fit 25mm tires are not the same as ones designed to fit 60mm tires. they can be used, but why would you do such a thing when buying a new wheelset for a MTB?


2. And the hub spacing?

Call me names if you must, but don't get all hurt because I called you out for poor advice.
