One final thought, I'm pretty sure the wheels were original equipment on the bike (Evans have a good reputation for their wheels) but they were specced in the catalogue as having 28 section tyres and we were fitting 23 and 25 section.
That may be part of my problem as well. My rims (ZAC 19) are rated 28-38, but since the bike came with 25 tires, i've always put 25.
It is the first time i've had this problem although many tube change, and that's why i blame the tube
