I used two of the Universal Nylon Mounts in parallel to mount it on my stem (which fortunately angles down at the correct angle), and it's very secure. They're about $2 each, but buy a couple extra -- I accidentally snapped the buckle on one pulling it too tight once. They're not gorilla proof.
