Try another shop, steel framed bikes and trainers do mix without problems. Just dial up the resistance on the trainer for more resistance, fixie or not. I only have steel frames so I know you'll be fine.

+1 on the stairs! The more the merrier. In college we used to run either the 11 story math building or the 20+ dorms. No hands, just do a speed skating stance and go. Hmmmm, I wonder if Frunkin does these same stairs at UWM?

Rollers? Great for pack racers because it teaches you to ride a straight line. Not much resistance though.

Do whatever you want between now and spring ... mix it up, keep it interesting. Unless you've just landed a Pro contract just have fun!
