Cyclist Struck And Killed By Garbage Truck In Manhattan
May 09, 2005

A woman riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a garbage truck in
Manhattan Sunday.

Brandie Bailey, 21, of Brooklyn, was hit at Avenue A and Houston
Street. She was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where she later died.

Police say the driver of the sanitation truck, which is owned by a
private company, was unaware he hit Bailey.

He has not been charged with any crimes in connection with the accident.

Thanks for the sad post, which unfortunately is devoid of any useful information regarding the cause of the incident or the responsibility for it.
