The nice officer might even let you go with a warning and a pat on the back just because you made him laugh so hard.
I'm not big on running red lights. But there have been times when I've thought it would be safer to clear an intersection when there is no traffic rather than waiting for traffic to back up behind and around me.

I don't think that's an excuse to run the light, but that's your choice.

When people see cyclists blatantly breaking laws it just gives them more reason to hate cyclists, which doesn't help to improve the negative perceptions people have.

northernlights has admitted to NEVER riding on the roads or even sidewalks. He appears to post in A&S simply to troll the forum.

Ignorant troll. I said I no longer had a need or desire to ride on the roads, I never said I never did. Go back to school and learn to speak English before you start spewing again like the mindless monkey that you are.

More name calling?

Have fun playing in traffic with the cars.
No mention of "no longer" in there.

Especially after you call other cyclist crazy and insane for riding common USA roads.

Where does it say I have never been on the road or sidewalks?

"I ride for recreation and exercise, and have no need to ride on the road."

That's called speaking in the present tense, which means I currently do not ride on the roads. It doesn't say I never did.

For the love of God go back to the third grade and learn some basic English, or I'm going to start charging you!

This thread was how to avoid this type of tragedy, not a place for name calling and trolling.

CLOSED.
