Critical Mass - Sydney, Australia

I've never been to one but I'm going to the next one. Now that I'm commuting on the bike virtually full time I feel that it's a way to contribute to the cause.

Anyone else here going to CM in Sydney? (or anywhere else for that matter?)

Are you a CM regular? if so, what can a newbie expect and what should I watch out for?

Why? Sydney was probably the most pro-bike city I have ever seen anywhere in the world.

You know, outside of some european cities I'm sure you're right. Why do CM Sydney? maybe becuase from what I've read it seems that they're conducted in a very law abiding manner and the local police on bikes even join in as an 'official' escort but they mingle and chat freely with the riders. It sounds like a bit of fun and good publicity as well. From a cycling point of view we have enjoyed a decade of state government that is pro environment and pro cycling but you never know what we'll end up with after the next elections so I'd hate to see us fall foul of our own complacency...... did I mention that it sounds like fun?
